About

Hello, I'm Cindy! I have been working the last 10+ years in healthcare majority in diagnostic imaging. I was drawn into healthcare after taking care of my Grandmother with Alzheimer’s. I love being able to help people especially when they are at their worst, treating every one of my patients as if they were a family member. This easily transitioned over to my equine clients! I wanted to find a way to mesh two of my passions together and dove into equine massage after seeing the benefits it offers, helping both horse and in turn rider!

Growing up in Michigan both my Dad and Grandpa had teams of Belgians and Norwegian Fjords that they used for horse pulls, best of show, and my favorite sleigh rides! It was only natural that the passion for animals would continue. I grew up with a Shetland pony that put up with a lot from my sisters and I. After outgrowing him I found the best boy a gal could ask for, Bullet, a half Quarter horse and half Tennessee Walker. He took anything I threw at him from 4-H, rodeo, jumping, saddle seat, reining, and even driving a one horse open sleigh. In high school I gave riding lessons, worked at the race track, and at a private horse stable that specialized in dressage and jumping. I have always had an incredible pull towards equine and have felt I have a gift for understanding them on a deeper level.

I have been in the San Luis Valley now for 7 years and have a small hobby farm with alpacas, llamas, horses, goats, and chickens. I am an animal lover at heart and have the patience it takes to handle them when they are less than cooperative at times. Originally I wanted to learn equine massage to use on personal horses. Once I saw the benefits first hand I knew I had to get my certification and offer this service to the SLV. I love seeing how the horse responds to certain techniques and tailoring the message to each horse. Feeling the energy shift in a horse from anxiety ridden to so relaxed they are nearly falling over, is the best feeling ever.

I look forward to continue my education and offering pre/post event equine massage, advanced equine massage, and acupressure. Please reach out and we can discuss how massage could help your equine companion!
